A Free Festival Tradition

Jazz & Rib Fest stands as Columbus's premier free summer festival, presented annually by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. The three-day event brings together jazz artists, soul performers, and regional musicians for performances across multiple stages positioned throughout the Scioto Mile waterfront district. With free admission and no tickets required, the festival creates an accessible gathering space for music enthusiasts across the region.

Multiple Stages and Diverse Programming

The festival features performances on three dedicated stages: the West Bank Park Stage (presented by ABC6/FOX28), the Bicentennial Park Stage (presented by Columbus Jazz), and the Brass Band Stage. This multi-stage setup allows for continuous programming and enables attendees to discover different artists and styles throughout the festival grounds. Headlining performers include accomplished jazz artists Jonathan Butler, Jeffrey Osborne, and PJ Morton, alongside local ensembles and brass bands.

The Barbecue Tradition

The festival's "Rib" component reflects its reputation for regional barbecue vendors competing for recognition. Food vendors and trucks throughout the grounds serve ribs, regional specialties, and general festival food. Beverage options include beer and soft drinks. Shaded dining areas provide respite while enjoying performances and meals.

Festival Experience

Held along the scenic Scioto Mile in downtown Columbus, the festival operates from 11 AM with extended hours on Friday and Saturday (until 10 PM) and shorter hours on Sunday (until 8 PM). The venue includes wheelchair-accessible restrooms and accessible parking throughout the downtown area. The river location creates a natural outdoor amphitheater setting for jazz performances during the warm summer season.
