Juneteenth Music Festival

The Juneteenth Music Festival represents one of the nation's most dynamic celebrations of freedom and culture. Each year, Denver's Historic Five Points neighborhood transforms into a vibrant hub where tens of thousands gather to honor Juneteenth—the day commemorating when the last enslaved people in America learned of their freedom.

Festival Overview

Founded with deep roots in Denver's African American community, the festival traces its heritage back to the 1950s with the historic Juneteenth Parade, nearly 5,000 participants strong. The modern festival has evolved into a multi-day celebration featuring live musical performances, a marketplace of 100+ Black-owned vendors, cultural programming, and community engagement opportunities.

2026 Celebration

The 2026 edition brings Grammy-nominated R&B artist SiR as the headline performer on the main stage. The festival spans three days beginning Friday, June 19th through Sunday, June 21st, with multiple signature events:

I AM JUNETEENTH GALA kicks off the weekend as an inaugural philanthropic celebration at 2700 Welton Street, uniting community leaders and changemakers in support of the festival's mission.

Southern Soul Plaza Party offers an intimate ticketed experience at Five Points Plaza featuring live performances, DJ sets, local food and beverages, and line dancing.

Main Festival spans the weekend with performances, vendor activations, and community gathering spaces.

Juneteenth Hop concludes the celebration as a bar and venue crawl throughout Welton Street's local establishments, showcasing jazz, soul, and hip-hop performances.

Community Impact

Beyond entertainment, the festival serves as a platform for economic empowerment through vendor opportunities and a dedicated Health Zone featuring community health resources. The festival actively seeks volunteers and donors to sustain programming for future generations.
