Founded in 1998, Shambhala Music Festival has grown into Canada's premiere electronic and live music festival, hosted annually at Salmo River Ranch, a 500-acre working farm in British Columbia. The festival operates on the unceded traditional lands of the Syilx, Sinixt and Ktunaxa Nations and serves an annual attendance of approximately 21,000 people from across North America and beyond.

The 27th annual edition in 2026 features 150+ artists performing across 6 distinct stages. The lineup spans electronic, house, and live music, with an emphasis on lyrical and dreamy sounds rather than intense, hard-driving styles. Notable confirmed artists include A-Trak, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Boris Brejcha, Chromeo, CloZee, Excision, Seven Lions, Tycho, Uncle Waffles, and many others. General admission tickets (starting at CAD $579.95 plus taxes and fees) include festival access Friday through Monday, free tent camping in one of three zones, and free parking.

Shambhala stands apart as a family-run, non-sponsored festival that prioritizes community care and safety. The festival operates comprehensive harm reduction programs including drug testing services, on-site medical teams, and dedicated safe spaces. The festival's philosophy is captured in its motto: "Look after your friend, whether you know them or not." Special camping zones cater to different needs, including Camp Clean Beats (substance-free) and an Accessibility Zone near the main stages for disabled patrons. The festival accepts payment by card only (no cash on-site) and offers waitlist registration, crew/volunteer opportunities, shuttle services from Vancouver, Kelowna, Spokane, and Calgary, and lodging packages through ShambhaLodging.
