Caribbean Days Festival: BC's Hottest Festival Weekend

Each July, the Trinidad & Tobago Cultural Society of BC transforms Coquitlam's Town Centre Park into a vibrant celebration of Caribbean culture. Caribbean Days Festival draws tens of thousands of visitors for a weekend of live music, dance, carnival traditions, and island cuisine. The 2026 edition runs July 25–26 at Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way), with gates opening at 10 AM Saturday and 11 AM Sunday, closing at 10 PM and 8 PM respectively. Best of all, admission is completely free.

What to Expect

The festival features two stages hosting continuous entertainment across the weekend. This year's lineup includes headliners Moses Revolution from Toronto and Soca Monarch Shurwayne Winchester from Trinidad & Tobago, performing on consecutive nights. Beyond the stages, the Carnival Parade in the Park showcases costumed performers and Caribbean music, while a dedicated Kids' Parade offers family participation.

Food and drink vendors serve everything from traditional Caribbean flavors—Trinidad, Jamaica, and Barbados specialties—alongside options for all palates and dietary preferences. A craft marketplace features handmade jewelry, clothing, and artwork from local artisans. For younger attendees, the festival offers games, amusements, and a youth soccer tournament called the Caribbean Days Cup.

Getting There

The park sits near Coquitlam Centre's transportation hub. The easiest route is the Millennium Line SkyTrain to Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station, followed by a short walk to the park. Visitors driving have parking available on-site. The venue itself anchors a five-hectare greenspace around Lafarge Lake, providing scenic grounds for the celebration.

Beyond attending, Caribbean Days welcomes performers, vendors, volunteers, and community involvement.
