Rochesterfest is Rochester, Minnesota's premier community celebration, operating as a completely free festival accessible to families, friends, and visitors of all ages. Held annually in late June at Soldier's Field, the festival has established itself as a cornerstone event featuring live music entertainment throughout each evening alongside diverse recreational activities. The 2026 edition ran June 23-27, spanning five days and some 60 events; that year the festival dedicated its main stage to the late Carole Brown, honored as the “heart and soul of Rochesterfest” for her role from 1991 to 2015, with a Carole Brown Day tribute on June 25.

The festival showcases eleven live musical acts representing various genres including pop, jazz, country, and soul influences. Musical programming runs from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM daily, with featured artists including Uptown Jazz, Soul Train, The Rockin Hep Cats, Sister Luv, and numerous other regional performers. A professional dance floor and instructional sessions are provided throughout the week, encouraging active participation from attendees.

Beyond musical entertainment, Rochesterfest offers extensive activities for families with children, including laser tag, bounce houses, tractor pulls, barrel train rides, karaoke nights, and magical character meet-and-greets. The festival has expanded to include pet-friendly programming under the "Woof Fest" initiative, allowing attendees to bring leashed dogs to participate in training demonstrations and educational sessions.

The festival culminates in a grand parade featuring community entries, live bands, and elaborate floats, which is broadcast locally by KAAL TV. Recent additions include cardio drumming classes, bingo competitions, baseball games, and various contests designed to engage participants across age groups. Daily themed activities—such as Senior Shine Day, Veterans and First Responders recognition, and youth dance showcases—ensure that different community segments feel welcomed and celebrated.
