Tampa Pig Jig began in 2011 as a small backyard barbecue fundraiser among lifelong Tampa friends supporting their friend Will Wellman's diagnosis with FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis). The event has since evolved into "the Tampa Pig Jig on the River, an annual waterfront fundraiser complete with nationally recognized country and rock music artists, delicious food, ice-cold beer, a corporate BBQ competition, and more." Since inception, the festival "has donated millions to NephCure, becoming its largest annual donor nationwide, and has helped launch nearly 60 clinical trials."

The 15th Annual Tampa Pig Jig celebrates this evolution with the tagline "Fire Up Some Fun" and the promise that "no matter how you Pig Jig, you're in for a smokin' good time for a great cause." The festival features chart-topping artists performing throughout the day alongside Food Row, multiple cashless bars, concessions with BBQ bites, shopping at exclusive Pig Jig merchandise tents, and interactive sponsor activations. Three ticket tiers accommodate different experience preferences. General Admission provides all-day access to the main lawn, Food Row, bars, concessions, and sponsor activations. GA+ adds expedited entry, a dedicated up-close stage viewing area, three complimentary beverages, and a $10 merchandise credit. The premium Milestone Supply Lounge tier offers unlimited barbecue and complimentary drinks all day, exclusive lounge access with private bathrooms and shaded seating, tastings, exclusive partner activations, and front-row stage access. The festival welcomes young attendees with a family-friendly policy: children 10 and under are free with a ticketed adult. Tampa Pig Jig operates in partnership with HopeWill Foundation, directing proceeds toward rare kidney disease research and patient support programs while helping bring together patients and families dealing with these conditions through patient social events.
