A Premier Summer Music Festival Returns to Calgary

The Roundup MusicFest has established itself as one of Calgary's flagship music events, returning to Prince's Island Park on July 8–9, 2026 for another celebration of world-class rock, pop, and alternative music. Held in the city's downtown core, the festival brings together internationally acclaimed artists and celebrated Canadian performers for a two-day outdoor experience that draws music lovers from across the region.

The 2026 Lineup: Rock Legends and Contemporary Acts

The 2026 edition features an impressive roster headlined by Billy Idol, the defining punk and rock icon with nearly five decades of chart-dominating hits including "Dancing With Myself," "White Wedding," and "Rebel Yell," alongside David Lee Roth, legendary frontman of Van Halen performing his "Don't Love Me, Rent Me" World Tour. The lineup continues with contemporary favorites Foster The People and Grouplove, and celebrated Canadian acts The New Pornographers, SLOAN (the Toronto-based band credited as main instigators of the East Coast alternative scene of the early 1990s), Toque, and The Royal Foundry, creating a blend of classic rock authority, punk energy, and modern indie-alternative appeal.

Tiered Ticketing and VIP Experiences

The festival caters to varying preferences through a range of ticket tiers. General admission starts at CAD $99 for early birds and CAD $119 for standard pricing, with VIP tickets (CAD $169) offering private viewing areas, picnic tables, shaded seating, and included dinner service. ULTRA VIP access (CAD $299) provides exclusive side-stage positioning, pre-paid drink tickets, complimentary snacks, and dedicated facilities. All tickets operate cashless via Debit and Credit Cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express). Multi-day passes and combo packages bundling Roundup with the Oxford Stomp festival are also available.

Venue, Amenities, and Event Details

Set within Prince's Island Park's natural greenfield, the festival operates rain or shine from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with food and beverage service running 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Bottled water is available for purchase until 11:00 PM. The venue is easily accessible by public transit from downtown Calgary with no onsite parking. Event amenities include food trucks, dedicated restroom facilities, first aid and information tents, lost and found, and dedicated VIP seating areas with soft seating and shaded coverage. As a licensed, 18+ event, photo identification is mandatory for entry. The festival recommends bringing dancing shoes, cowboy hats, sunglasses, and a positive attitude. An official after-party continues at Wildhorse Saloon, extending the celebration beyond the main event. The festival is produced by 51 North Productions Ltd., a local event production company.
