Tulsa International Mayfest reimagines a traditional spring arts festival as an extended road trip through Tulsa's creative landscape, stretching across the entire month of May 2026. Organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to promoting knowledge and education of the arts and humanities, the festival travels to four distinct stops, each celebrating a different facet of local culture.

The journey begins every Saturday in May at Renaissance Square Event Center on Route 66, where student artists from elementary, middle, and high schools display their work, accompanied by live performances and food trucks. The festival then moves to Mother Road Market (May 15–17) to showcase local artists, community performers, singer-songwriters, and regional food vendors. As the month builds toward its climax, Mayfest connects with the Route 66 Centennial Celebration, hosting the Route 66 Tailgate at the Tulsa Fairgrounds on May 29 with live music from artists including Travis Kidd, Joleen Brown, and Jacob Tovar, plus a live vehicle auction. The final stop on May 30 takes place during the Guinness Record Route 66 Centennial Car Cruise, where musicians like Paul Benjamin and Friends perform from the Meadow Gold District to entertain cruisers and crowds. The festival's integration of visual arts, live music, local vendors, and vintage car culture reflects a community-centered approach to celebrating Tulsa's creative economy and Route 66 heritage.
