LEVITATION is an independent music festival and label celebrating psychedelic rock, experimental music, and underground culture. Founded in 2008 as Austin Psych Fest by The Black Angels and collaborators, the festival became a global hub for psych rock and related genres. In 2015, it was renamed LEVITATION to commemorate the 50th anniversary of The 13th Floor Elevators, the pioneering Austin-based psychedelic band that inspired the festival's artistic mission.

The festival has evolved into a curated platform for innovative, boundary-pushing music across psychedelic rock, dream pop, punk, indie, metal, darkwave, electronic, experimental, and garage rock. The 2026 edition features headliners King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Kikagaku Moyo, The Black Angels, Primal Scream, Osees, Ty Segall, SLIFT, Windhand, Dead Meadow, and Death Valley Girls.

Beyond the main festival event, LEVITATION operates as an independent record label and cultural organization running year-round programming. The festival maintains connections to Austin's psychedelic heritage and hosts sessions, live recordings, and archival content that celebrate the genre's past and present.

LEVITATION is also known for its distinctive visual identity, commissioning poster artwork from global visual artists. The organization's merchandise and brand are fulfilled through El Famoso, an Austin-based warehouse partner offering domestic and international shipping.
