The Music City Bluegrass & Roots Festival returns to Catonsville's premier outdoor entertainment venue, The Vortex at CAA Park, a stunning 12-acre location nestled in the Catonsville Arts & Entertainment District. Now in its second year, the festival celebrates both progressive and traditional bluegrass music, featuring emerging regional acts alongside nationally recognized performers. The 2026 edition, presented by Sun Rider 9 Productions, spans a full day of live music across two stages, showcasing the genre's evolution and diversity. Highlights include Kitchen Dwellers, the Montana-based progressive quartet whose 2024 album 'Seven Devils' debuted at number one on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart; Magoo, a Denver-based ensemble winning multiple festival band competitions; and Danny Paisley and The Southern Grass, a traditionally-rooted act whose lead vocalist has earned four IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year awards. The festival emphasizes community participation through The Pickin' Tree, an open jam session inviting attendees to perform alongside professional musicians.
