The Albuquerque Folk Festival is a community-focused celebration of folk music and cultural traditions held annually at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Student ensembles such as AHS Mariachi San José and ATC Stringband perform alongside established regional and national acts. Notable performers include Dom Flemons, Martha Spencer & The Wonderland Country Band, Catfish Keith, and Lone Piñon, among many others representing diverse cultural backgrounds.

Interactive Programming Beyond Performances

Beyond live music, the festival emphasizes active participation through music workshops across multiple genres and skill levels, hosted jam sessions with guidance from experienced musicians, dance performances including Indian classical dance, Chinese dance, capoeira, and hoop dance, and storytelling programs. The popular Band Scramble allows participants to form bands and perform. Dedicated children's programming includes a kids tent, instrument petting zoo, face painting, and storytelling designed for young audiences.

The festival provides free admission for children 17 and under and seniors 85 and older, discounted rates for students and military personnel, and advance purchase options. The event features food vendors, craft vendors, beverage service, and an instrument check room. The organization maintains year-round community presence with newsletters, outreach events, and volunteer opportunities.
