Western Canada's Premier Latin Cultural Celebration

Expo Latino has established itself as Western Canada's largest outdoor Latin festival over three decades of programming. In 2026, the festival marks its 30th anniversary with a three-day celebration August 14-16 at the scenic Prince's Island Park in Calgary. The festival brings together the broader Calgary community to experience Latin American culture through music, dance, cuisine, and visual art.

Programming and Cultural Experience

Expo Latino features a diverse lineup of folkloric and contemporary dance performances alongside live musical performances spanning various Latin American traditions. The Cultural Pavilions showcase distinct Latin American heritages and traditions, offering educational and experiential programming. An Art Zone provides space for visual artists and cultural creators. Children's activities ensure families of all ages can engage with Latin American culture throughout the festival.

Culinary and Artisan Marketplace

Authentic cuisine from Latin American countries is a cornerstone of the festival experience, with multiple food vendors representing various regional cuisines. The artisan and business marketplace features handmade jewelry, non-jewelry crafts, and small business vendors alongside food service providers and corporate sponsors.

Organization and Accessibility

Expo Latino is organized by the Hispanic Arts Society, founded in 1987 and dedicated to promoting Hispanic culture in Canada. The festival is held at Prince's Island Park in downtown Calgary and offers free admission across all three days. Operating hours are noon to 1:00 AM Friday and Saturday, and noon to 9:00 PM Sunday. The festival receives support from the City of Calgary, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Calgary Arts Development, and federal and provincial governments.
