Houndstock: Roots Music in the Heart of Downtown Lexington

Houndstock brings two days of authentic americana, bluegrass, and blues music to downtown Lexington at Gatton Park on the Town Branch, a newly constructed 12-acre venue in the heart of Kentucky's cultural district. Held May 15-16, 2026, the festival celebrates roots music traditions with 18 performances scheduled across two main stages: the Main Stage and the Hightail Stage, with Friday evening opening at 4:30 PM and Saturday featuring full-day programming.

Festival Experience and Venue

The venue itself represents a significant addition to Lexington's downtown infrastructure, offering attendees mature shade trees, open green spaces, and modern amenities designed for family enjoyment. A centerpiece of the experience is BLOOM, an enchanting art installation by French design collective TILT featuring giant illuminated flowers that transform the park atmosphere during evening performances. The festival welcomes dogs alongside families, with an adventure playground and splash pad ensuring children can engage in activities while parents enjoy the music. The location provides walking access to downtown Lexington's restaurants, bars, and attractions, allowing festival-goers to extend their experience beyond music programming.

Lineup and Programming

The festival features emerging and established artists performing across both days. Friday brings performances from Mash Grass, Trippin Roots, The Dead Air Dennis and Bryan Himes Experience, and Treyvon King Band as headliner at 8:15 PM. Saturday features Bee Taylor backed by the Lexington Philharmonic, plus headliner Tee Dee Young, with additional performances from Bedford, Low Gap, Sydney Adams, Samuel James, Cait Justice, Emma Hansman, Thunderwood, Stoll Vaughan, and Eric Bolander across the day.

Food and beverage vendors line the festival grounds, with particular emphasis on regional BBQ offerings. Multiple parking options throughout downtown include Manchester Music Hall paid lot, street parking (free weekends), and LEXPARK garages.
